At Heiden, we build high-quality custom metal fabrication products that our customers depend on every day. Keeping materials flowing and production moving is critical, and this role is at the center of it.
This role is a mix of purchasing, problem-solving, and coordination. You’ll be working directly with vendors, supporting the shop, and making sure the right materials are in the right place at the right time. If something is off, you’ll be the one helping get it back on track.

What You’ll Be Doing
A Day in the Life
- Place and manage purchase orders while staying on top of open orders and vendor follow-ups
- Work with production and engineering to ensure materials are ready when needed
- Coordinate outsourced work and ensure timing, quality, and cost are aligned
- Resolve vendor issues, shortages, and delays before they impact production
- Monitor supplier performance and hold vendors accountable
- Manage material certifications, country of origin, and required documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and material flow
What Success Looks Like
- Materials are available when production needs them without constant follow-up
- Vendor relationships are strong, responsive, and reliable
- Issues are identified early and handled before they impact the shop
- Purchase orders and outsourced work stay on track with minimal disruption
- You bring ideas to improve how we purchase, plan, and manage materials
- The shop trusts you and knows they can count on you
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing
- Experience working directly with vendors and managing orders end-to-end
- Strong organization and follow-through
- ERP/MRP experience (Epicor preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize and adjust quickly
- Comfortable working with the shop and being hands-on
- Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
